Millions of single men and women visit and use dating and social networking websites around the world in search of companionships and long-term relationships, and the founders of Degreedate.com knew it would be tough to differentiate their website from the competition. After facing the difficulties of limited resources and time constraints, Degreedate.com management hired Level2wo to not only redesign their website, but to update their logo and branding, as well as create compelling content that would drive users to their website. After a few initial meetings, Level2wo was able to gather all of Degreedate.com’s requirements, make suggestions based on tried and true best practices, and completely revamp Degreedate.com as a company.
Branding & Logo
Degreedate.com’s logo and brand were created at a time in the company’s history when the resources to produce professional quality deliverables were simply falling short. While the logo and Degreedate.com brand were good enough for the time being, it was clearly time to update to a more polished, professional, yet fun, look. After doing some research on the looks and feel of Degreedate’s competitors, Level2wo was able to create a more contemporary, exciting logo that would appeal more to the target market the company was going after. Following up on the logo, Level2wo implemented the brand’s new look and feel to the rest of the Degreedate.com website, as well as to the print collateral the company was using to market their services.
Content
Started in 2004, Degreedate.com’s first pitch was: “Degreedate.com is the premier online dating service targeting educated singles. Degreedate.com’s unique and targeted service offering is dedicated to providing discriminating men and women with a place to experience the difference in online dating.” While their pitch worked for press releases in business publications and websites targeting business leaders and writers, it clearly would not be appropriate for the general consumer. After some consultation, Level2wo not only improved Degreedate’s tagline, Level2wo completely rewrote and edited all of Degreedate.com’s content, including taglines, website content, and even the articles they wrote about dating in general.
While the site continues to build their offerings behind the scenes, Level2wo has taken the stress off Degreedate’s management when it comes to the company’s content, logos, and branding. According to Rose Medina, Degreedate.com’s COO, “Level2wo has made my job immeasurably easier. Everything they’ve done has improved and clarified the way we do business, and how we see ourselves. Before they came in we were in the dark ages in terms of the look of our website and how we wanted to present ourselves. That’s no longer the case. It’s a good feeling.”
